What housing will I need?

When purchasing a baby or juvenile reptile or frog, the animal will often do well if kept in an enclosure designed for a babyor juvenile animal. It is not advisable to put young animals in adult caging, and can sometimes result in stress related issues (for both animal and owner)

Below is a checklist (guide only) of what you should be looking to acquire to keep a python, dragon, turtle or frog.

Pythons
  • NSW NPWS RK licence
  • Small, escape proof cage
  • Conductive Heating (heatpad)
  • Thermostat and thermometer
  • 2.0-5.0 UV lighting (when older)
  • Water spray bottle
  • Clean substrate
  • Somewhere to hide
  • Habitat
  • Waterbowl
  • Cage Cleaner
  • Vitamins and Calcium Supplements
  • Food (DoLittle Farm Frozen Rats or Mice of course!).
Dragons
  • NSW NPWS RK licence
  • Escape proof cage
  • White basking lamp
  • Night heating (heatpad)
  • Thermostat and thermometer
  • 5.0-10.0 UV lighting
  • Waterbowl
  • Some where to hide, somewhere to bask.
  • A clean substrate
  • Water spray bottle x 2 (one for vitamins or calcium if you like)
  • Vitamin and Calcium Supplement

  • A variety of food.
Turtles
